Spring is here, help keep hour pets parasite free!
It is that time of year our furry friends love; longer walks, playtime in the park, critters to chase, and water to play in. Oh the joys of being pet parents and like all parents freedom comes with a price. For our furry kids that price is bugs! Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and unwanted parasites that love to make a community on our pets. These can become a big problem. Fleas, for example, can lay 50 eggs per day. That means if one flea gets onto your dog and into your home, you could have thousands of fleas living on your pet and in your home in just a couple of days. Whilst these repellents will help your dog, they won’t remove the fleas from your home. For those unseen parasites remember to deworm your pet from his or her veterinarian, wipe paws after playing or exercising in community shared areas, and discourage your pet from eating things outside. Keeping your home a shoe free zone is helpful as many parasites can be picked up from outside and carried inside by shoes.
