Downtown Pineville is going to the dogs with Howl-o-ween Saturday, October 18th
PINEVILLE, NC – Pooches on parade lead off a menu of autumn festival fun on Saturday, October 18, as Pineville’s 17th annual Fall Fest celebrates on Main Street in the historic downtown district.
The pooch parade, dubbed Howl-O-Ween, will feature dogs in costume. Pet owners are invited to bring their costumed canines (on leash, please) to Fluffs of Luv Pet Care, 315 Main St., at 10 am. Judges from Fluffs of Luv will award prizes and offer $3 nail trims to all pooches present. Proceeds from the nail trimming will benefit the Humane Society of Charlotte.
Howl-O-Ween is part of the Town of Pineville’s Fall Fest, a two-day festival Oct. 17-18 featuring continuous live music, carnival rides, games, foods, crafts, the Children’s Art Show, demonstrations and performers, all set against the beautiful backdrop of Pineville Lake Park. Festival-goers can park in the downtown area and take a free hay ride to and from the lake. Tickets for carnival rides will be sold downtown. Each book of ride tickets purchased downtown will get you a free jack-o’-lantern (one per family, while supplies last).
Pineville’s downtown area will also have food vendors, live music, children’s face painting, sidewalk sales, local business exhibitions and the always-popular “pluck-a-duck” game. In Pluck-a-Duck, festival-goers make a $5 donation to the Humane Society of Charlotte and choose a toy duck. Everyone who plucks a duck is a winner and receives swag from Main Street merchants.
“This is an amazing opportunity to enjoy downtown Pineville’s historic district with all its offerings, plus take in the celebrations at Pineville Lake Park. It’s going to be a fun, family festival with a wonderful assortment of attractions,” said David Zion, president of the Pineville Downtown Merchants Association.
